If you get stuck waiting on trains at Robinson Road and Greenhurst Road in Nampa, this one's for you. The city announced Friday that it has been selected for up to $42.98 million in federal funding for a railroad overpass there. The city calls it the largest transportation grant in Nampa's history.

The money is part of a $1.24 billion federal rail safety program, USDOT says. It will pay for final design, right-of-way acquisition and a new overpass. The city says the current crossing sees "frequent blockages from train operations," creating delays for drivers and potential challenges for emergency response.

Nampa's council sends proposed food truck rules back to staff for changes

If you've been following Nampa's food truck rules, there's still no final answer. Monday night, councilmembers went line by line through a new draft ordinance for mobile food vendors.

The proposal would create one license instead of multiple permits, drop fingerprinting and restroom requirements, and add an option for food truck courts. That gave local vendors cautious relief after years of back and forth.
