If you get stuck waiting on trains at Robinson Road and Greenhurst Road in Nampa, this one's for you. The city announced Friday that it has been selected for up to $42.98 million in federal funding for a railroad overpass there. The city calls it the largest transportation grant in Nampa's history.

Nampa's overpass would get up to $42.98 million in federal money

The money is part of a $1.24 billion federal rail safety program, USDOT says. It will pay for final design, right-of-way acquisition and a new overpass. The city says the current crossing sees "frequent blockages from train operations," creating delays for drivers and potential challenges for emergency response.

Traffic between Cruse Lane and Greenhurst Road is expected to triple by 2050
