Highline Industrial Park Subdivision will sit at 11637 Linden Road, about 1,000 feet east of KCID Road. It'll be built in five phases and includes an employee recreation area with two picnic shelters, half a basketball court and three pickleball courts.

  • Highline lots: 6.95 to 29.40 acres each
  • Airport reserve: one 15.09-acre lot south of Smeed Parkway
  • KCID Commercial: southeast corner of KCID Road and US 20/26
  • Possible tenants: fitness facility, coffee shop, bank, medical offices

The KCID Commercial Subdivision is already zoned community commercial. A land use buffer along its southern edge will provide a pathway between the shops and nearby low-density homes.

Canyon County voters rejected a $20 annual vehicle registration fee Tuesday that would have helped pay for local road projects. It was estimated to raise $4.4 million a year, about 9% of an estimated $49 million funding gap. KIVI-TV

Election lines

A 66% turnout overwhelmed parts of Canyon County's polling system Tuesday, and workers counted ballots into Wednesday morning. The last voter cast a ballot at 12:20 a.m., Secretary of State Phil McGrane said in an interview, more than four hours after polls had closed, and some voters were still voting hours after polls closed. County officials point to fewer precinct locations, same-day registrations, hand-marked ballots and heavier-than-expected turnout. Idaho PressMoscow-Pullman Daily News

Found a very rough looking kitty on Cherry street in Caldwell.

“He’s friendly but extremely skinny and can’t stay up right without wobbling and falling. Wondering if anyone recognizes this cat or if the poor baby belongs to anyone.”

The Wrap

Haunted World in Caldwell is bringing back a little spook after Halloween. The haunt, which is normally shut down for the year by now, reopens for one day only on Friday the 13th. The outdoor maze stays closed, but the indoor Skullvania haunted house will be open for another scare. Perfectly timed, we'd say.
