Canyon County commissioners selected Copper Quill Haven to run the animal shelter, replacing West Valley Humane Society after concerns over care and finances.

West Valley Humane Society will submit its formal objection after Canyon County chose a new shelter leadership lacking large-scale experience — raising concerns over continued care for thousands of animals and families.
The ITD announced a temporary shift starting tomorrow evening from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for reconfiguring lanes at SH-16 and SH-44 for construction, and on Thursday the agency will reopen two lanes on SH-44 while keeping SH-16 limited to one lane south of the intersection.
