🌲 Environment
The National Interagency Fire Center in Boise reported that more than 37,800 wildfires have burned 2.6 million acres across the country so far this year.
Two military C-130 aircraft have been deployed from California and Nevada to aid firefighting efforts—while local officials note that fire activity in Idaho has been milder, drought conditions may change that quickly.
🏛️ Government
A federal judge granted provisional class action status in Davids v.
Adams, which keeps a temporary stop on a law that would force public benefits to check immigration status. The ruling lets Dr. Abby Davids and other plaintiffs challenge the law and means a judge will soon decide if the injunction stays in place+ if the law is reviewed further.
