Fred Meyer has announced that a new 155,000-square-foot store will open in Caldwell at the Chinden and Middleton intersection and will offer groceries, electronics, jewelry, home goods and more.
The project is expected to create approximately 250 jobs — boosting the local economy.
Caldwell Mayor Jarom Wagoner said he will continue to serve after a recall effort aimed at him and four council members fell a few hundred signatures short of the 4,982 needed by June 2 — City Council President Brad Doty has launched his mayoral campaign and called on voters to engage in the democratic process.
