Good morning, Caldwell.
🏛️ Government
Governor Brad Little signed a law that extends foster care benefits to age 23 to help young adults move from foster care — the law takes effect on July 1 and is expected to add 40 more participants while the state works to increase foster home availability.
A bill that would ban SNAP from covering soda and candy is headed to Governor Little's desk and requires the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare to seek federal approval—proponents say it will encourage healthier choices while opponents warn it may prompt grocery stores to stop accepting SNAP.
