- ➤ Dr. Becky Sundin, the 2018 Idaho Teacher of the Year and longtime educator with strong community ties, announced on Thursday her run for superintendent of public instruction; she said her campaign will focus on improving reading outcomes & ensuring fully funded special education for students. - ➤ A North Idaho lawmaker introduced a bill on Thursday to require daily recess — at least 20 minutes for elementary students and unstructured time for middle schoolers. The measure moved forward after committee discussion and prohibits schools from using recess as discipline. IdahoNews
