  • The Caldwell Night Rodeo will host its 102nd event from Aug. 18 to 22 after a record season, following major upgrades to the arena and a $7.5 million capital campaign. Fans can watch finals on Rodeo Live and enjoy meet and greets with PRCA stars while tickets are on sale.  IdahoNews

  • Dr. Becky Sundin, the 2018 Idaho Teacher of the Year and longtime educator with strong community ties, announced on Thursday her run for superintendent of public instruction; she said her campaign will focus on improving reading outcomes & ensuring fully funded special education for students.  IdahoNews
  • A North Idaho lawmaker introduced a bill on Thursday to require daily recess — at least 20 minutes for elementary students and unstructured time for middle schoolers. The measure moved forward after committee discussion and prohibits schools from using recess as discipline.  IdahoNews
